Social media can support a custody or support case when it shows a pattern that contradicts statements made to the court. But it can also backfire if collected or used improperly.
Examples that may matter
Posts showing risky behavior around the child
Public check-ins that contradict claimed whereabouts
Photos that indicate undisclosed cohabitation or employment
Statements about withholding visitation or ignoring orders
Common mistakes
Trying to access private accounts (illegal)
Harassing or messaging the other party
Editing screenshots without preserving originals
Posting about the case online
